Ruth Emery Dewhirst died October 26, 2025 and was born on February 21, 1928 in Pedee, Oregon, where her father worked logging. She joined her sister Louise and mother Manila.
When a young girl they moved back to Idaho and grew up at the Oling ranch on Crooked River.
In 1946 she married Arnold Emery. They had one child, Ann.
Ruth spent her whole life in Council farming and ranching. She was her father’s right hand man, driving teams of horses mowing hay.
She is survived by her daughter Ann, husband Darrell, grandchildren Darell Jr. and Sharrell, two great-grandchildren and many great-greats and many dear friends.
At her request there will be no services. Everyone knows what a loving and giving person she was, so to honor her, do something kind for another.
